In the early 18th
century, there was a popular anecdote about a barmy drink.
As the story goes, once drink that alcohol, people may act
and behave in a peculiar way. Balate, a great traveler at
that time who invented the vinegar-making method, was the
originator of vintage. He found the aboriginals, blacks and
loc al
villages made a strong kind of drink from sugar syrup in a
rough way. The drink called sugarcane wine was strong and
cheap but with bad smell and taste. It was related to many
anecdotes about those extremely vicious pirates on the Caribbean
Sea. The pirates were all eloping criminals and with out nationality.
They never believe any law or religions. Drinking the sugarcane
wine they became even more unruly and despite any courtesies.
The sugarcane they drunk is the predecessor today's Cuba rum.
Along with the importing of steamer and new distillation equipment,
Cuban rum factories spread all over the island. These factories
are all facing the south and with no windows in order to keep
the indoor humidity and sultriness, which are both necessary
for a good ferment of sugarcane syrup.
Even at that time the Cuban rum was better than brandy from
Spain and France. Rum from "Havana Club" is as good
as the "FRENCH CANCAN" and has been able to open
the doors of all eateries with a song and dance in Paris or
even the whole Europe. Cuban rum then gained a real worldwide
reputation and was well known in both Europe and America.
Now the "Havana Club " has become a standing body
in a town near Havana. "Havana Club" International
Corporation now hold a cocktail making contest with a big
award annually and it serves to fulfill Cuban rum culture.
Cuban old reserve rums are 1 years, 3 years, 5 years or 7
years old, and some even 10 years, 13 years or 15 years….
The longer time they are reserved, the better quality and
sweetness they have. Cuban rum is unique and world-renowned.
The rum cocktail is still a world wonder. Cuban cocktail makers
can make all assortments of cocktails which make people feel
cool, sober, heartened and cannot help drinking more….
