The Republic of Cuba is an archipelago with a total land surface of 110,860 km2,. It's composed of four thousand one hundred and ninety five islands, in which the island of Cuba is the largest in the Caribbean sea and the seventh largest island in the world.
Cuba is located at the entrance of the Gulf of Mexico in the Caribbean Sea. It limits to the North with Florida Peninsula (United States of America), 180 Km off its coasts; to the South -140 Km- with Jamaica; to the East -77 Km- with Haiti; and to the West -210 Km- with the Yucatan Península (Mexico). It's renowned as the "golden key of the Mexico of the Gulf", for its shape roughly like an alligator, it's also called "Green alligator of Caribbean Sea".

Due to Cuban unique geographic location, it enjoys convenient transportation. More than fifty-five international airlines connect Cuba with any other countries in the world. Its subtropical islet landscape is exclusive in the world. There are over 800 species of lush plants,50% of which are endemic, its ecological tour sources are defenitly rich: more than 900 fisheries swimming in the water, 4000 species of reptile crawling on the land, hundreds of birds flying in the forest, especially colourful parrot and .El Tocororo (Priotelus temnurus), which is regarded as the national bird of Cuba.
